Dalton global team takes over multi-asset fund

Dalton Strategic Partnership’s global equities team, led by Nick Mottram, has taken over responsibility for the Melchior Global Multi-Asset fund formerly run by Luca Vaiani.

Mr Vaiani joined Dalton in September 2012 and managed the $6.8m (£4.3m) fund from January 2013 until the announcement of his departure last month.

A spokesman said: “Luca Vaiani recently left the business and the Melchior Global Multi-Asset fund is now being managed to the same absolute return remit, but by the Dalton SP global equities team headed by Nick Mottram.”

Mr Mottram joined Dalton in 2010 after founding Origin Asset Management. He previously worked for Investec Asset Management as head of equities.

The fund has delivered a 10 per cent return over one year, 8.54 per cent over three years and 15.6 per cent over five years, according to the firm’s own figures.
