The Exeter updates income protection range

The Exeter has implemented a range of product enhancements across its income protection plans.

The mutual insurer, known as Exeter Family Friendly until a re-brand last week, has introduced some new additions to the Pure Protection and Income One policies, designed to make both more flexible and affordable.

These include the option of a two year maximum claim period, a fixed benefit option to guarantee a level of income at claim, and an increased maximum finishing age of 70 – which also applies to Income One.

The Exeter has also announced that all new income protection applicants will receive one month’s free premium, across the entire range.

Simon Philp, director of distribution and marketing, said: “Our new brand is just the beginning of the evolution of our products, which begins today.”

“This range of enhancements, to both Pure Protection and Income One, makes our plans more flexible to the lives of today’s consumers and gives advisers yet another great reason to recommend The Exeter.”

In April, the friendly society revealed that 94 per cent of all claims received last year were paid.
