Schroders veteran Banyard to depart

Schroders European small companies specialist and fund manager Rosemary Banyard is leaving the firm after more than 17 years.

Ms Banyard, the co-head of pan-European small companies and co-manager of the firm’s £386.6m Institutional UK Smaller Companies fund, £569m UK Smaller Companies fund and £187.9m UK Mid Cap Fund investment trust, will leave on March 31 2016 to pursue new opportunities.

Andy Brough will become sole manager of the UK Smaller Companies fund, while Iain Staples, co-manager on the Institutional UK Smaller Companies fund, will take on additional co-manager responsibilities for some of the segregated mandates.

Meanwhile Hargreave Hale’s Jean Roche is set to join Schroders’ pan-European small and mid cap team as a fund manager in January 2016.
