Sandringham launches AE consultancy for SMEs

West Yorkshire-based Sandringham has launched an auto-enrolment consultancy to support its adviser partners working with business clients.

The new service, targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises that are yet to stage, will allow advisers to offer AE solutions without clients having to manage the back-office and payroll issues.

The scheme works with various pensions providers including Royal London, National Employment Savings Trust, Aviva, Peoples Pension and NOW: Pensions.

Tim Sargisson, chief executive for Sandringham, said: “With hundreds of thousands of small and medium-sized businesses set to stage in the next year, auto-enrolment presents a fantastic opportunity for advisers.

“Intermediaries can create tremendous goodwill and income by offering this service, as well as showcasing their knowledge and expertise to new clients.”

The new consultancy comes ahead of SMEs being phased into the government’s AE scheme in 2016.

Industry view

Brian Spence, managing partner at London-based consultancy Harrison Spence, said: “Creating an AE consultancy is eminently sensible. The more opportunities and innovations within the retail sector the better for both client and advisory sector. It’s one of the intended consequences that they hoped would be filled by peopole such as Sandringham.”
