JPMorgan US small cap trust to cut fees

The JPMorgan US Smaller Companies Investment Trust is to cut its fees by opting for a 1 per cent basic management fee across all its assets.

Currently the £111m vehicle charges a basic management fee of 1.2 per cent per annum on assets up to £100m, and 1 per cent on any assets in excess of this.

From January 1 2016, however, the trust will revert to a management fee of 1 per cent per annum on all assets.

The trust said any investments made into funds where JPMorgan Asset Management earns a management fee is excluded from the calculation, bar the JPMorgan Liquidity Funds.

According to FE Analytics, the trust returned 80.7 per cent over three years, compared to 45.7 per cent from the AIC North American Smaller Companies peer group.
