Skipton updates online mortgage portal

Skipton Intermediaries has launched a new mortgage portal, providing broker partners with a faster and easier application process.

After speaking to over 100 advisers, the lender developed its eMortgage portal to include a responsive design that works on a variety of platforms.

Changes have been made to the application process, including questions to help guide broker partners through the new EU Mortgage Credit Directive requirements, minimising the legal work.

Last month, Skipton Intermediaries outlined its plans for helping broker partners’ transition to the new MCD rules.

There are also questions to help users easily identify the regulatory status of buy-to-let clients, while an instant feedback on decision in principle declines feature.

Paul Darwin, Skipton’s head of intermediary relationships, said: “We appreciate how busy all of professional partners are, and that they don’t have time to spend on lengthy, complicated mortgage application.

“We wanted to address this issue and after speaking to over 100 brokers, we have acted on all of their individual feedback, to bring a variety of key changes to the portal.”
