National adviser Lighthouse Group has announced today (28 January) it has agreed a new contract with the University and College Union, to be the preferred provider of expert financial advice to its affiliate members.

The contract will run for three years from 1 February.

Under the terms Lighthouse will be the preferred provider of financial advice to UCU members and will encompass advice on savings, investments, pensions, protection and mortgages.

UCU represents more than 120,000 academics, lecturers, trainers, instructors, researchers, managers administrators, computer staff, librarians and postgraduates in universities, colleges, prisons, adult education and training organisations across the UK and is one of the largest post-school unions in the world.

The new contract adds to Lighthouse’s already established relationships with the Association of School and College Leaders and the Association of Teachers and Lectures.

Malcolm Streatfield, chief executive of Lighthouse, said: “The board is pleased to have secured this partnership with UCU, a new and exciting engagement for us.

“We look forward to developing our relationship over the coming years and working closely with UCU members to assist them with their financial planning requirements. The board remains committed to increasing our affinity partnerships throughout the UK.”
