Julian Ide has been named the new chief executive of the UK-based arm of ETF provider Source.
He was chief executive of Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) from 2011 to August 2015 before leaving in a restructure that saw Richard Buxton become head of OMGI.
Mr Ide will join in his new role as chief executive of Source UK in mid-April.
He is the latest in a series of appointments at Source, which said it had a “record year” in 2015 as assets under management increased by 26 per cent.
In January, Source appointed six new country heads across Europe and in September last year it hired a team of five to service the UK advisory market in response to what it said was growing demand for ETFs.
Lee Kranefuss, executive chairman at Source, said: “[Mr Ide] has an unparalleled reputation and track record in building and running asset management businesses and delivering exceptional products for clients.
“His appointment is a clear reflection of the significant impact ETFs are making across retail, wholesale and institutional markets.”
