M&G hires from Ashburton for absolute return push

Tristan Hanson is to leave his role as Ashburton Investments’ head of asset allocation to join M&G Investments’ multi-asset team.

Mr Hanson, who joins as a fund manager on March 21, will be responsible for developing the company’s absolute return proposition, reporting to head of multi asset Dave Fishwick.

Mr Hanson had responsibility for global multi-asset funds at Ashburton, and previously worked as a strategist at JPMorgan Cazenove where he covered equities, fixed income and currencies.

Graham Mason, chief investment officer at M&G, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Tristan to our team. He has extensive experience across multi-asset strategies and will play a key role in broadening our capabilities around absolute return products. This will strengthen our multi-asset team and meet increasing demand from our clients.”
