Gam adds to targeted return range

Gam has launched the Star Target Return range of multi-asset solutions as an alternative option to for investors looking to minimise equity, duration and credit risk.

Group head of multi-asset portfolio solutions and chief economist Larry Hatheway will manage the fund range, using around 20-30 “global trade ideas” with value and long strategies in a range of asset classes.

The Gam Star Target Return fund and Gam Star Target Return Plus fund will aim to produce returns of Libor plus 3 per cent per annum and Libor plus 5 per cent per annum respectively.

Minimum investment and charges figures were not specified by Gam.

The funds will typically hold global equities, bonds, currencies and commodities trade ideas. Risk management will use quantitative modelling and stress testing.

Mr Hatheway said: “The launch of the target return range is an expansion of our long-standing experience investing across asset classes for private clients and institutions.

“Target return products can offer an attractive alternative to bonds while minimising duration and credit risk. Investors are increasingly turning to outcome focused investment solutions that provide diversification to traditional asset allocation.”
