For the second year in a row, protection specialist LV will host another series of its ‘Wake up to IP’ events, in a bid to help advisers who want to improve how they sell income protection.
Last year, more than 2,000 advisers took part in the ‘Wake up to IP’ events, according to figures from the company.
This year nine seminars will take place throughout May.
The CPD accredited sessions are designed to help advisers sharpen their skills and make income protection a core part of the conversation when speaking to clients about protection.
In the nationwide seminar, common challenges advisers face when offering protection will be discussed, and new ideas and practical tools they can use with clients presented.
The free sessions will cover income protection and state benefits, showcase tools to demonstrate the value of protecting income to clients, and suggest ways to bring down the cost when income protection is recommended alongside life insurance and critical illness cover.
Myles Rix, managing director of protection at LV, said: “Everyone should have access to quality financial support if they’re ill and unable to work.
“These sessions can help advisers explain the importance of protecting income and the value of this product to clients, as well as showing advisers how to tailor income protection to suit different needs.”
