Axa IM poaches EM fixed income head from Rogge

Axa Investment Managers (IM) has appointed Michael Ganske, of Rogge Global Partners, as its head of emerging markets fixed income.

Mr Ganske, who was head of emerging markets at fixed income specialist Rogge, will lead a team of 10 based in London, Paris and Hong Kong.

Earlier this year AllianzGI announced it would acquire Rogge for an undisclosed sum by buying up share capital from the firm’s management and Old Mutual.

Separately, Axa IM has been increasingly focusing on global emerging markets fixed income, establishing a team dedicated to this area in June last year.

John Porter, global head of fixed income at Axa IM, said: “We have invested heavily in this team with the hire of Sailesh Lad, senior portfolio manager, and Olga Fedotova, head of emerging markets credit research, last summer.

“Michael is a key appointment for us and demonstrates the scale of our ambition in this space and our belief that investors will continue to find emerging market debt an attractive asset class.”

Prior to his time at Rogge, Mr Ganske worked for Commerzbank, Deka Investment and DWS Investments.
