Axa IM’s Peirson to retire next year

Axa Investment Managers’ Richard Peirson will retire from the company in March 2017, handing over the reins on his Framlington Managed Balanced fund to co-manager Jamie Hooper.

Mr Peirson has managed the £962m fund since joining the firm in 1994.

He will remain lead manager alongside Mr Hooper until he steps down at the end of the first quarter next year. Mr Hooper was appointed as co-lead manager towards the end of 2015 as part of a succession plan.

Mr Peirson runs several segregated mandates for Axa IM and will retain his responsibilities until he leaves next year.

The Managed Balanced fund has returned 14 per cent over the past three years against a IA Mixed Investment 40%-85% Sector average of 10 per cent, according to FE Analytics.
