SLI real estate head exits after 25 years

Standard Life Investments (SLI) has shaken up its real estate team following the resignation of Andrew Jackson, the firm’s head of wholesale and listed real estate funds.

The fund house has appointed Svitlana Gubriy as head of global REIT funds while James Britton becomes manager of the Global Real Estate fund.

Ms Gubriy joined SLI in 2005 and is currently manager of the Global REIT Focus fund and is deputy manager on the firm’s Global REIT vehicle. She will now become manager of the latter.

Mr Britton, who joined the fund house in 2006, manages the Standard Life Unit Linked Life fund and the South Yorkshire Pensions Authority advisory mandate.

Mr Jackson, who has spent 25 years at the firm, will remain at the business until October to ensure a smooth transition period. SLI also plans to recruit another member of the listed real estate team.

Mr Jackson started in the property research team in 1991 and became head of the team in 1999. He moved into fund management in 2003 before being appointed to manage the wholesale and listed team in 2008.

David Paine, head of real estate at SLI, said: “Andrew has made a significant contribution to the team over 25 years at SLI.

“He has decided to leave to pursue other interests, but is staying until October to ensure a smooth transition for his team and our clients.”
