Japan manager Somerville to exit Jupiter

Japan manager Simon Somerville is leaving Jupiter after 11 years at the fund house.

Dan Carter, who joined Jupiter in 2008 and previously served as deputy manager on Mr Somerville’s £577m Japan Income fund, has taken over as lead manager of the portfolio.

There will be no change to the investment philosophy of the fund, which has returned 15.4 per cent over three according to FE Analytics, compared with 11.3 per cent from its IA Japan peer group.

Jupiter chief investment officer Stephen Pearson said: “We are sorry to see Simon leave after a long career with Jupiter. He has made a valuable contribution to our business, not just as a fund manager but as a colleague, and we wish him the very best for the future.”
