FundsNetwork has added 12 investment trusts to the platform to meet demand from advisers.
In December, the Fidelity-owned platform decided to offer a range of the most popular investment trusts in the market, while also broadening its range of exchange traded funds.
The recent move means the platform now offers advisers access to 66 investment trusts and 80 exchange traded funds.
Danny Wynn, head of fund partners at Fidelity International, said the platform has seen growing demand for these types of vehicles since it introduced investment trusts last year.
“In advance of delivering a full brokerage service, we are delighted to be able to announce that we are expanding our range following further feedback from advisory firms.”
The investment trusts that have been added are:
Investment Manager | Investment Trust |
Aberdeen Asset Managers | New India |
BlackRock | BlackRock Commodities Income |
New City Investment Managers | CQS New City High Yield |
F&C | European Assets |
F&C | F&C Capital & Income |
Henderson | Henderson High Income |
Invesco | City Merchants High Yield |
JP Morgan | JPMorgan European Income |
JP Morgan | JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income |
JP Morgan | JPMorgan MidCap |
Law Debenture Corporation | Law Debenture Corporation |
SV Life Sciences Managers | International Biotechnology |
Mr Wynn said in the meantime, the company will continue to review and develop its proposition to support the “evolving needs” of advisers and their clients.
However, Matthew Harris, director of Fife-based Dalbeath Financial Planning, said his firm never use investment trusts.
“It’s important that clients clearly understand the risks involved in their investments, and the added complexity that discounts, premiums, board meetings and share buybacks bring to investment trusts mean that we believe open-ended funds are just a better option.”
