BMO Gam promotes Wilson to chief executive

Richard Wilson has been promoted to chief executive officer and chief investment officer of BMO Global Asset Management.

Mr Wilson was appointed chief executive of F&C Asset Management in January 2013, prior to its acquisition by BMO, which completed in May 2014. He has since served as chief executive of BMO Global Asset Management’s Emea business.

Other past roles include head of equities at F&C and managing director of global equities at Deusche Asset Management.

The firm said there was currently no one to replace Mr Wilson in his Emea role.

Mr Wilson takesover from Rajiv Silgardo, currently co-chief executive, who will retire in August. He joined the firm in 2009. Barry McInerney, previously co-chief executive alongside Mr Silgardo, left BMO last month to move to Mackenzie Investment as president.

Mr Wilson said: “I am very pleased to be taking over the helm at BMO Global Asset Management, which is well positioned for growth. I am confident we will deliver strong results, outstanding client solutions and market-leading performance.”
