Unbiased has reached a deal with tech start-up Moneyhub to integrate its services into a money management offering.

The Moneyhub service, which aims to help people manage their finances, will now be included in Unbiased’s Find an Adviser search tool.

Unbiased will push the Moneyhub portal as a way for people to keep on top of their finances, and will be promoting exclusive offers to trial the service.

The partnership is expected to launch this month and Unbiased chief executive Karen Barrett said advisers would gain increased visibility of their services through the link-up.

She said: “Independent financial advice and its offshoot, financial planning, are largely about managing all of one’s finances as a coherent whole. Moneyhub, with its unique user experience, provides exactly this holistic view.

“Unbiased can then provide the final piece of the puzzle, in the form of independent and qualified financial experts who can help use this information to the fullest.

“We anticipate that by joining forces, we can make the advice journey seamless and even more focused on the individual’s needs.”

Ms Barrett said technology and financial advice were becoming ever more closely intertwined, with the former helping to make the latter more cost-effective and customer-focused.

Moneyhub was launched in Bristol in 2013 and a year later it was bought by Momentum UK, part of South African financial services group MMI Holdings.

Samantha Seaton, commercial director at Moneyhub, said: “Our business uses technology as a catalyst for change, always focused on helping to solve genuine pain points.

“We believe that this partnership will provide a comprehensive financial experience that’s both invaluable and unique.

“For the first time, consumers will have not only a panoramic view of their financial universe, but also immediate access to a financial adviser.”

Dan Clayden, director of Devon-based Clayden Associates, said anything that promotes the benefits of taking advice has got to be good.

“A lot of aspects of financial planning are things that people can do themselves, but there are obviously aspects where the taking advice from a qualified professional is really beneficial.”
