Apfa hits road with forum events

The Association of Professional Financial Advisers has launched its inaugural Financial Services Forum events.

The initial two events will be held in October and November, in partnership with Deepbridge Capital and Apfa’s associate partners.

On Thursday 6 October, Apfa will be at Crewe Hall in Haslington, Crewe, between 12pm and 5.30pm.

On Tuesday 22 November, Apfa’s event will take place at Schroders offices in Gresham Street, London from 12pm to 5.30pm.

The half-day events will provide advisers with the opportunity to hear from senior regulators, industry thought-leaders and policymakers on key issues affecting their businesses.

Topics covered will include an update on the progress of the implementation of the Financial Advice Market Review recommendations, the implications of Brexit, the investment outlook in uncertain times and what to look for when considering alternative investments.

For Apfa members attendance costs £20, while non-Apfa members will have to pay £35.

Apfa director general Chris Hannant said he was keen these events should not be ‘preachy’ in tone.

“Instead we want to provide a series of panel sessions on which we will always seek to have a voice from the advice profession,” he stated, adding: “If the events are successful we will then look to host similar events in other regions in 2017.”
