The AA looks to enter mortgage market this year

An AA branded mortgage product is expected to be launched later this year, subject to regulatory approval.

Following the AA launching a 10-year UK financial services partnership with the Bank of Ireland UK this time last year, the companies have looked at credit cards, unsecured personal loans, savings and mortgages.

To date, the AA has launched four credit cards, unsecured personal and car loans, along with a range of Isa savings propositions.

The AA stated that a third quarter launch was likely, although this is already later than a promised second quarter launch, due to time taken with regulatory authorisations.

Intellectual Property Office documents suggest this may be under the name The AA Mortgages, which was registered last week.

No more details were available at this stage.
