Seneca retail head Jackson departs for Architas

Former Schroders head of IFA sales Steve Jackson is to leave Seneca Investment Managers after less than a year and take up a new role at Architas.

Mr Jackson will join the Axa-owned multi-manager in September in a newly created position of key accounts director, responsible for managing relationships with advice firms and networks. He will form part of the firm’s 15-strong adviser-facing UK distribution team.

Mr Jackson left Schroders after seven years in February 2015 and joined Seneca as head of UK retail last October. He previously spent more than 15 years at M&G Investments.

To support Mr Jackson, Architas has hired Jo Pawson from Axa Wealth as a key accounts manager.

Cedric Bucher, head of Architas UK funds, said: “With the ever-changing landscape of UK advice, I felt it was critical to build out our existing service for nationals and networks. Steve has a great deal of experience in this industry and we believe he can make a significant contribution to our efforts to better service our clients.”

Axa’s decision to sell its platform business, Elevate, to Standard Life has meant a period of change at Architas. The firm, which will continue to offer Elevate users cut-price funds, has also changed chief investment officers this year.

Longstanding CIO Caspar Rock has left to join Cazenove Capital and will be replaced by Barclays multi-manager veteran Jaime Arguello.

Seneca confirmed a replacement for Mr Jackson would be announced in due course.
