We are already doing better post-Brexit

I was surprised that you gave so much space to the diatribe against Brexiters from Harry Katz (FA 11 August) in your current issue, but then I noticed the colour of your pages and all became clear.

In 1975 I signed up for an economic pact, not a political grouping. In my opinion, all those in favour of remaining are aligning themselves with the crooks in Brussels and Strasbourg raiding the till – our till.

The EU accounts have failed to be signed off by their auditors for the past 19 years. Any company would have been struck off long ago. I feel cleaner now we are on our way out. There are bound to be some hiccups along the way, as in any acrimonious divorce, but already Commonwealth countries and others are lining up to do deals with us.

Has Mr Katz not noted the increase in fund levels and performance since the initial shock reflex downturn (he only mentions the first two days post-Brexit)? I am one of those in the majority vote who consider themselves well-informed (I have actually visited the EU HQ in Brussels – has Mr Katz?), better educated (I hold an entry certificate for London University, although I chose to work in financial services for more than 60 years) and multi-lingual, being fluent in Russian and French. I rest my case.
