During a gala event at the London Hilton Hotel last night (29 April), editor Gemma Westacott was presented with the award following FTAdviser.com's extensive redesign just over a year ago, which saw the offering expanded into a truly breaking news service.

As one member of the personal finance community that voted for FTAdviser said: "It's proving that it's the best trade website in the business."

Meanwhile, FTAdviser.com senior reporter Sharon Flaherty was also recognised for her contribution to the award-winning site by being awarded the rising star of the year (trade media) award.

Flaherty said: "It is just such a lovely surprise to have all of your hard work recognised by the personal finance industry and my peers.

FTAdviser.com was transformed through a re-launch in March 2008.
