Almost 150 of the financial intermediary community's movers and shakers attended the FTAdviser Online Service Awards, where a total of 30 five awards and four star certificates were handed out across the three categories - mortgages, investments, and life and pensions.
Comedian John Bishop hosted the proceedings, with winners including BM Solutions, which scooped the top ranking for mortgage providers and pacakgers.
Winterthur was awarded the top accolade of Company of the Year, having come top of the rankings for the Investment category and also having scooped a second 'five star' award in the life and pensions category.
Meanwhile, last year's winner of Company of the Year, Zurich Intermediary Group, was applauded with the FTAdviser Outstanding Achievement Award 2009.
Zurich was also the overall winner within the life and pensions category this year..
The awards ceremony followed a huge response from the financial intermediary community, with over 1,000 advisers voting on FTAdviser.com throughout April for the online leaders in their field.
Each provider was given a rating between 1 and 10 over a number of criteria, including overall functionality, ease of transaction, reliability and business support, with the best performing companies awarded a prestigious 'five stars'.
Other winners on the night were Payment Shield for being Most Improved Life and Pensions Provider, Cheltenham & Gloucester for Most Improved Mortgages provider, and Threadneedle for Most Improved Investments provider.
