Launched last year, 'annuity solutions' offers customers the potential for extra pension income from a conventional annuity based on their postcode.

This has now been extended to include enhanced annuities, with a team on hand to provide guidance to customers so that they disclose all of the relevant information required in order to achieve a higher income.

Tim Gosden, head of annuity product development at L&G, said: "Given the success of the ability for consumers to arrange an enhanced annuity seemed the next logical step.

"We continue to believe and support the need for customers to get independent financial advice but it is also important to provide customers with the choice to buy directly from us."
