Parents are squeezing their adult children for funds, claims investment house

Scottish Widows believes the tables have turned and parents are now turning to their adult children for financial handouts as they attempt to "sap" back the money previously loaned.

Research by Scottish Widows pointed to parents needing the money to pay off debts or to spend on household goods or day-to-day living expenses as reasons for "sapping back" the money they once lent their children to pay off their debts or get onto the housing ladder.
