2plan - the IFA set up by former Positive Solutions staff in April - is gearing up its recruitment drive to hit its target of 1000 advisers in five years.
Chris Smallwood, chief executive of 2plan, said so far 25 IFAs have gone through the 2plan induction course - 18 of whom are now appointed. According to Mr Smallwood the company is geared up to reach its objective of recruiting 100 IFAs by the end of June 2008, which marks 2Plan's first full year in business.
Mr Smallwood said that currently the company has four recruiters, but plans are in place to reach a target of 10 recruiters by June next year.
He added that he was happy with the company's progress so far, particularly with regard to the quality of advisers joining the business.
2Plan, which was founded by Mr Smallwood and Chris Davies both former directors at Positive Solutions celebrated its first six months in operation by moving to a new office development at Bridgewater Place in Leeds.
Trevor Matthews, chief executive, UK Financial Services for Standard Life, delivered the keynote address at the opening of the new office development. He said: "Standard Life is keen to work with everyone at 2plan and explore the opportunities available through this unique and innovative proposition.
"The adviser market in the UK has changed radically in the last few years with the introduction of depolarisation and we expect more changes with the outcomes of the RDR."
