The All Formats Charter was issued by Birmingham's Queen Alexandra College's last Wednesday.

It has been awarded to subsidiaries Phoenix Life and Phoenix & London Assurance for their work making services accessible to blind clients through producing literature in braille and large print.

Fiona Holland, head of policyholder communications for Phoenix, said: "With more than 2m visually impaired people in the UK and an ageing population it is important that not only Phoenix, but all companies, provide a service that does not discriminate or exclude sections of society."
