Unum4advisers.co.uk is aimed at IFAs providing corporate clients with advice on group protection and follows the recent launch of a similar Unum website for individual products.

The latest website includes weekly updates on industry news, information on Unum's product and services as well as templates to save advisers time when writing reports.

Advisers will also find research and statistics on group risk on the site.

Wojciech Dochan, head of commercial marketing for Unum, said: "We strongly appreciate how much corporate clients need and also value the advice and guidance of our adviser partners in planning and implementing their group risk benefits and services."

"We are constantly looking at how to add value to all of our relationships and ensuring we are providing better support. This dedicated website in particular aims to be an invaluable source of information on group risk."

Unum said it welcomed input and ideas from advisers for the site’s future development.

Mr Dochan said: "Most importantly this is the first edition of what we anticipate being a constantly developing site."

Alan Lakey, partner of Hemel Hempstead-based IFA Highclere Financial Services, welcomed the website, particularly the research and statistics facility.

He said: "Over the last 18 months, a number of advisers have been looking for alternative source of income. They have turned in many instances to protection. Protection needs remain constant."

He said that any new information that helped advisers moving into new areas was going to be of assistance and the statistics would help back up advice.
