Fidelity FundsNetwork Platform for Learning and the Financial Services Skills Council are to jointly host a series of IFA Careers Forums in different locations around the UK in late July and August.

The forums have been designed in response to research conducted by the FSSC which showed a lack of awareness surrounding the opportunities in financial services among school leavers, graduates and careers advisers.

The FSSC and FundsNetwork aim to begin to address this through the IFA Careers Forums, which will support the development of job profiles by identifying the main roles within the advice sector, the entry routes and the necessary skills and qualification requirements.

Sara Powell, head of training and professional development for FundsNetwork Platform for Learning, said: "The FundsNetwork Platform for Learning is working with the FSSC to find solutions.  While we have a long way to go, we believe that hosting the IFA Careers Forum is a significant step in the right direction."
