At the EIA summer conference in Edinburgh last week, the organisation of financial advisers launched a website and announced it had joined forces with UKSIF, the sustainable investment and finance association.

Robin Keyte, chairman of the EIA, said the association had strengthened support for financial advisers who wanted to attract the growing number of consumers looking for advice on green and ethical investment.

He said as a result of the launch of the website and closer work with UKSIF, EIA members would now have access to a wider range of resources and events.

Mr Keyte said: "The EIA's website, as well as a strengthened relationship with UKSIF, will mean we can offer financial advisers better, clearer and easier-to-access information on the latest developments in green and ethical investment."

Interested financial advisers can find out more about EIA membership and green and ethical investing at its quarterly conference free of charge.

Lawrence Hayward, principal of Leicestershire-based IFA Moodybrook Financial Services, said there was more choice on other websites.

He said: "You have to pay to join EIA depending on how big your business. There are other websites and you can find most IFAs in the UK, and they have a wider choice. At the moment you can only get a small amount of people on EIA."
