Delivery authority looks to Richards for business role

Former Citibank man Simon Richards has been announced as business delivery director for the authority

Simon Richards has been appointed business delivery director of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority.

Mr Richards will be responsible for establishing the infrastructure and processes of the delivery authority, including management of the procurement process, programme management and the operational design of the personal accounts scheme along with the approach to implementation and launch.

Tim Jones, chief executive of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority, praised Mr Richards and said he had a proven track record of delivering new financial services projects and of working at board level.

He said: "His experience of procuring third-party suppliers will be a real asset to the delivery authority as it embarks on its extensive procurement programme. He will play a significant role in the delivery of personal accounts in 2012."

Mr Richards said: "I am delighted to be joining the board as business delivery director and look forward to the challenges ahead.

"My focus is to ensure the successful delivery of personal accounts in time for the commencement of new employer duties 2012."

Mr Richards has held a number of positions in the financial services industry including time spent at Citibank, PriceWaterhouse, Goldman Sachs and Simpay.

He also founded Alpheus, a niche IT consultancy, based in London and Frankfurt, where he was its chief executive.

Mr Richards is currently working at the delivery authority as its interim business delivery director.

As with all board appointments at the delivery authority the business delivery director has been appointed for a three-year period.
