Old Broad Street Research suspends the AA Rating on M&G UK Select fund

Mike Felton, manager of the £499.9m M&G UK Select Fund is taking time off for leukaemia treatment.

He is expected back early next year and Garfield Kiff will be take over the running of the fund.

Old Broad Street Research has suspended its AA Rating on the fund following the announcement. The OBSR team said it will be meeting with caretaker manager Mr Kiff, who was previously the deputy manager of the fund.

Richard Romer Lee, research director for OBSR said: "We send our best wishes to Mr Felton and his family. We understand that he is due back early in 2009 and wish him all the best for successful treatment."

Mr Felton joined M&G in January 2005 as head of UK retail equities, and began his career in 1989 as a graduate trainee at Sun Alliance Investment Management.
