The roll out of hundreds of new European Social Fund projects across England has been backed by James Plaskitt, Parliamentary under-secretary for the department of work and pensions.

The new projects - which aims to help thousands of people to get qualified and enter jobs - will start in the coming months. They are the first to be supported by the 2007-2013 ESF programme which is investing £2 billion of ESF money in England.
