Tories rejig IHT policy

The Conservatives have announced plans to allow families to inherit up to £2m tax-free, according to reports.

This doubles the pledge the party made last September on death duty. The opposition party said couples would be entitled to a £1m allowance for each person, which would be transferable to the surviving partner after death, it has been reported.
