Runway drama for flighty critters

As if the airline industry weren’t in enough trouble already, investors may be alarmed to hear some pesky varmints are pulling it further into the mire.

About 100 flights in New Delhi were recently delayed by an outbreak of lizards, jackals and birds on the runway. Animal protection organisations had to scramble onto the runway to rescue the intruders, although a less sympathetic wildlife monitor said the airport had largely eradicated the problem by catching the lizards in traps. Apparently, this can be a common problem in New Delhi during the rainy season, so business people who want to leave on time should consider bringing a few cages.
