Skerritt look into wine and timber

Hove-based IFA Skerritt Consultants has said it is launching an alternatives portfolio to take advantage of consistently outperforming asset classes.

Andrew Merricks, head of investments at Skerritt, said the fund would aim to take advantage of esoteric stars such as traded life, wine and timber.

"We'd be looking for liquid assets as much as possible," he said.

The IFA would aim to provide a strategy for internal clients to start with and then potentially look at a broader retail launch.
