Cheyne brings Jorge Giampaoli in to Equity Macro fund

Alternative asset manager Cheyne Capital Management appointed Jorge Giampaoli as partner and manager of the new Cheyne Equity Macro fund, which employs a "short-term, macro-based" equity trading strategy.

Mr Giampaoli joins from Morgan Stanley, where he has worked for the past eight years, most recently in charge of propriety trading for European equities. Jonathan Lourie, co-founder and chief executive at Cheyne, said Mr Giampaoli's hire was an "important strategic addition" to the firm's "diversified investment proposition" at a time of intense change in the industry.
