Stressed? Then invest to a different beat

Those stressed out by the financial crisis should listen to more opera to calm themselves, according to a new study by Dr Luciano Bernardi.

The doctor from Italy's Pavia University recently completed a study that showed listening to the right kind of music can slow the heart and lower blood pressure.

Apparently, rousing operatic music, such as Puccini's Nessun Dorma, rife with crescendos and diminuendos, is best to relieve stress and can even help rehabilitate stroke patients. So next time a fund manager finds himself tearing his hair out over an important decision, maybe he should reach for a Pavarotti CD.
