S&P launches commodities and natural resources indices

Standard & Poor’s has launched two investable indices, intended to provide investors with beta exposure to natural resources and commodities.

The S&P Global Natural Resources index offers highly liquid exposure across 60 companies in the primary commodity sectors of energy, agribusiness and metals and mining.

Meanwhile, the S&P PMI Commodities and Resources index focuses on larger capitalised stock, tracking roughly 160 companies, which are split between energy, materials and agriculture.

Over one year to the end of April, the Global Natural Resources index returned 35.27 per cent, while the PMI Commodity and Resources index returned 52.92 per cent.
