A great Place2Be for charity competitors

Diary would like to tip its hat to each of the 800 competitors who took part in Martin Currie's Rob Roy Challenge earlier this month.

The competition was a 55-mile hike, split between 16 miles of walking and 39 miles of cycling. As well as keeping all entrants on their toes, the event managed to raise a whopping £400,000, split between Habitat for Humanity, the Prince's Trust, the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust and Place2Be. Our mole at the event said the midges were particularly bothersome and may have played a part in managing director Andy Sowerby crashing his bike into a bridge.
