Capital trust takes top spot in ranking survey

The £1.8bn RIT Capital Partners trust has claimed the top spot in Alliance Trust Savings' Isa ranking survey for the second consecutive year.

Moving into second place was the £2.4bn Scottish Mortgage trust, while the £813.4m British Empire Securities & General trust slipped to third.

Kelly O'Donnell, managing director of distribution at Alliance Trust Savings, said investors' choices this year were focused on non-benchmark-constrained vehicles.

She added: "Our yearly investment trust Isa ranking gives us a valuable insight into investment habits."
