F&C's Lifestyle range currently contains four unfettered funds of funds - the £17.9m Lifestyle Balanced, £16.3m Lifestyle Cautious, £15.1m Lifestyle Defensive and £14m Lifestyle Growth funds.

The portfolios follow the fundamental allocations of risk-assessment device Dynamic Planner, which advisers can use to determine clients' suitability for them.

The Lifestyle Cautious and Lifestyle Defensive lie in the Cautious Managed sector.

The Defensive's benchmark is 43 per cent equities, 33 per cent UK corporate bonds, 19 per cent UK Reits and 5 per cent money markets, while the Cautious's is 60 per cent equities, 22 per cent UK corporates, 13 per cent UK Reits and 5 per cent money markets.

The Lifestyle Balanced sits in the Balanced Managed sector and has a benchmark comprising 76 per cent equities, 16 per cent UK corporate bonds and 8 per cent property.

The Lifestyle Growth is in the Active Managed sector and follows a benchmark of 90 per cent equities, 8 per cent bonds and 2 per cent property.
