Financial Jenga - Building up or crashing down?

If I am not sorely mistaken, I have spotted that the polite game of lawn bowls the mortgage industry has been playing for most of this year has swiftly been replaced with what can only be described as financial services Jenga on a global scale.

According to Hasbro, the maker of Jenga, the wooden building block game is a must have that no fun-loving household would be without.

For those unfamiliar with Jenga, the game involves stacking wooden bricks to build a tall tower. When you run out of bricks, you have to start pulling bricks from lower down in the structure and placing these on top to continue to build upwards.

The hope is you can continue to build a towering structure without making it too unstable by pulling away any of the bricks lower down that are vital to its structure.
