The launch of the new department is the result of a strategic review of Platform's business model.

The new department will incorporate a mortgage processing division and a service management division, which Platform believes will offer a streamlined end to end mortgage application process.

Jason Finch, previously joint head of new business for Platform, has been appointed as head of mortgage processing.

Finch will oversee 52 people across five teams, responsible for processing applications from receipt through to offer and on to completion as efficiently as possible whilst building relationships with customers and supporting Platform's sales team.

Sandra Robson-Clark, also previously joint head of new business for Platform, has been appointed as head of service management.

Robson-Clark will oversee 40 people across five teams managing a dedicated call centre and offering internal support facilities as well as bespoke operational support in partnership with Platform's sales team.

David Tweedy, managing director of Platform, said: "Over the past few months we have undergone a thorough assessment of our business model and associated organisational structure and have made a number of changes that set us up as a business fit to tackle the challenges that we are currently facing and prepare for the future.

"The launch of our new lending services department enables us to offer enhanced mortgage processing functionality and supports a key objective of offering a consistent and first rate customer experience."
