Mortgage fraud is not something that just affects the average home owner. According to this US Mortgage Fraud Blog, back in 2004 Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp was ready to foreclose on Wesley Snipes' $1.7m mansion in Islewood Florida. Mr Snipes, who currently languishes in prison for tax evasion but starred in films such as Demolition Man, claimed the mortgage was a forgery. As evidence, he showed a signature on the mortgage documents that appeared to be missing the second 'e' in his first name Wesley. Mr Snipes filed an appeal to Florida's Supreme Court.
