DWP thresholds consultation ends

The paper is one of several consultations issued by the DWP on the new auto-enrolment regime, and aims to find out whether having PAYE or national insurance thresholds would help ascertain the level of contributions people earning set amounts could pay into the scheme.

Coinciding with this, Friends Life has announced details of its online hub that will help employers meet their duties under the auto-enrolment reforms.

Colin Williams, managing director of corporate benefits for Friends Life, said the hub has been designed to collect information from employers’ payroll to determine what pension arrangements are needed for each employee.

The system will help firms re-enrol any employees who previously opted out after the three year period.

It will also allow eligible employees to opt in voluntarily through an online portal and provide information that employers and employees will need in order to understand the scheme.
