In a video interview with FTAdviser’s Emma Ann Hughes, Mr Cann said clearly it was vital to grow the number of people offering financial planning and that the IFP would seek to argue with policymakers on achieving this.
He said: “We have accredited financial planning firms and that allows us to present to external stakeholders what it is they do, how they do it and more importantly what consumers can expect by going to those firms.
“As we get more and more people in that position, as the number grows, we are in a stronger position to take that message to organisations and governments and regulators to better influence some of the decisions that are being made.”
