Partnership hires Phoenix group chief actuary

Partnership has appointed David Richardson as is new chief financial officer, where he will be responsible for Partnership’s finance, actuarial and investment management.

Mr Richardson joins Partnership from the UK’s largest closed life assurance fund consolidator Phoenix Group, where he was group chief actuary and responsible for restructuring the group’s £70bn balance sheet and overall capital management.

Following Mr Richardson’s arrival, Partnership’s incumbent chief financial officer, Mark Dearsley, will become managing director of the firm’s new international division.

Kathryn Purves, commercial director has additionally been appointed as chief risk officer and will oversee leadership of the risk, compliance, legal and company secretarial functions.

Steve Groves, chief executive officer at Partnership, said: “David has valuable and very relevant experience within the industry and will be a great addition as Partnership continues its expansion.

“David’s arrival has allowed other board members to widen their responsibilities, and I fully expect Mark Dearsley and Kathryn Purves to continue to flourish in their new roles.”
