Jim Reeve, former chief executive at Positive Solutions, has been appointed director of accountant and tax professional support group 2020 Innovations as the consultancy gears up to help accountants move into the provision of advice post-Retail Distribution Review.

Currently managing director at Signature Private Clients, Mr Reeve will focus on chairing the 2020 Innovations board, developing strategic relationships with third party product and service providers and establishing a financial service support offering for member firms and customers.

Ian Fletcher, managing director of 2020 Innovations, said: “In our opinion, Jim is the leading expert in successfully developing businesses in the financial services sector.”

Mr Reeve stepped down from his role as chief executive at Aegon subsidiary Positive Solutions in early 2012 (22 February).

Commenting on his new appointment, effective immediately, Mr Reeve said: “It is clear to everyone that the financial planning landscape has radically changed. Clients will rightly demand clear evidence of the value being added by their professional advisers.

“Many of the current business models are under severe regulatory and commercial pressures and will struggle to adapt to the new world.

“There is a truly fantastic opportunity for accountancy practices to leverage from their existing strengths and become a major force in the provision of financial services.”
